Tiny paws. Terrible intentions.
SPIRES CLAW LABORATORY · HOWL-O-WEEN MISFITS
Tuki the Yorkie–Gremlin, better known by his self-appointed alias Grimm, is Misfit File 008 in LilTuki’s Howl-O-Ween Misfits. He understands precisely how things work—and takes enormous pleasure in making them do something else.

NAME: Tuki

CREATOR: Dr. Franken-Fur
INTENDED PURPOSE: A self-replicating gremlin army. Absolute obedience.
ACTUAL RESULT: One fiercely independent mechanical genius. Multiplication unsuccessful.
OFFICIAL TITLE: Director of Unscheduled Improvements
OCCUPATION: Making things work against you.
GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT: Disabling every security device in the laboratory without leaving the treat cupboard locked.
FATAL FLAW: Afraid of water. Incapable of leaving a successful prank alone.
SIGNATURE LINE: “Nothing is broken. Several things have been reassigned.”
Subject Overview
Tuki understands precisely how things work—and takes enormous pleasure in making them do something else.
Cunning, theatrical, and occasionally unsettling, this Yorkie–gremlin approaches mischief with the precision of an engineer and the restraint of a dog who has discovered an unattended treat cupboard.
He wants the satisfaction of outsmarting someone, the pleasure of a dramatic reveal, and immediate access to the snacks. His plans usually work. His inability to resist one final flourish is what gets him caught.
He would prefer you call him Grimm. He has corrected the paperwork. Nobody seems to be taking it seriously.
Official Incident Report
Dr. Franken-Fur checked his calculations twice. Every wire was connected. Every dial was set. His latest experiment was ready.
Unfortunately, so was Tuki.
One tiny claw reached toward the controls. One enormous grin appeared beneath the workbench. And one spectacular POOF left the doctor covered in soot, his fur crackling with static.
From somewhere beneath the smoke came a delighted little snicker.
“That wasn’t a malfunction. That was the demonstration.”
The doctor slumped over the console. A tiny spark snapped between his ears.
“…Tuki.”
“Grimm.”
The correction was entered into neither the conversation nor the official record.
Experiment Background
Dr. Franken-Fur envisioned an army.
He paired a gremlin’s mechanical intuition and extraordinary agility with a Yorkshire Terrier’s confidence. The resulting creature would infiltrate inaccessible spaces, dismantle complex machinery, and multiply upon contact with water.
The doctor expected absolute obedience.
Tuki had suggestions.
Within hours, the laboratory had acquired an unauthorized engineer, several rearranged controls, and a security system that no longer protected the treat cupboard.
The multiplication trial proved equally disappointing.
One accidental splash produced no army, no reinforcements, and no second Tuki. There was only one very small, very wet Yorkie whose flattened fur did little to conceal his outrage.
The doctor counted him twice.
Tuki considered once sufficient.
Documented Capabilities
Mechanical intuition: Understands, dismantles, repairs, and repurposes intricate machinery with alarming precision. Usually knows exactly which missing component the doctor is searching for.
Exceptional agility: Navigates rafters, ventilation shafts, and spaces the doctor insists are too small. Frequently observes the search for him from directly overhead.
Precision claws: Equally suited to climbing, manipulating tiny parts, and resting beside a forbidden lever while he considers his options.
Theatrical misdirection: Can outsmart the entire laboratory. Cannot resist making sure everyone knows it was him.
Selective kindness: Quietly repairs a friend’s broken treasure, then claims the damage was becoming personally irritating.
His fellow Misfits matter to him more than he admits. If a prank causes genuine distress, he abandons the performance and fixes the problem.
He will deny that last part.
Principal Malfunction
Water.
The intended trigger for an unstoppable gremlin army instead sends its sole recruit scrambling toward the highest available shelf.
Water does not multiply Tuki. It frightens him, flattens his magnificent fur, and leaves him looking considerably less imposing than he would prefer.
His other weakness is applause.
He can disable an alarm, slip through a narrow passage, and reach the forbidden cupboard undetected—then announce his victory with a bark.
His intelligence is exceptional. His discretion remains under review.
Current Status
The laboratory now has a self-appointed Director of Unscheduled Improvements.
The treat cupboard has no functioning lock.
Dr. Franken-Fur checks beneath the workbench before touching anything.
Tuki considers these developments evidence of a successful placement.
Dr. Franken-Fur’s Final Laboratory Entry
MECHANICAL APTITUDE: Exceptional.
OBEDIENCE: Selective.
REPLICATION: Failed.
WATER TOLERANCE: Insultingly low.
THREAT TO CIVILIZATION: Unsubstantiated.
THREAT TO MY REMAINING PATIENCE: Confirmed.
“The experiment is fully capable of following instructions. He simply has suggestions.”
“I set out to build an army of gremlins. I have acquired one Yorkshire Terrier with access to my tools. I am beginning to suspect the army would have been easier.”
— Dr. Franken-Fur
One scientist. Too many monsters. Absolutely no obedience training.
